About Ipplepen Village Garden Show

The Ipplepen Cottage Garden Society was established in 1890 and since then, excluding the war years, has organised an annual flower show. Now known as the Ipplepen Village Garden Show Society, this event has always been held on the third Saturday in July and is an established tradition of the village. The Show attracts entries in a wide range of classes such as fruit, flowers, vegetables, domestic, photography and floral art. Attractions many years ago included Tug of War, children’s sport, clay pigeon shooting and bowling for a pig! Other attractions that still exist are archery and of course, the Maypole. This remains a huge highlight of the show and a tradition of over 50 years standing.
