One day to go

24 hours left and all systems are go. Thank you to everyone involved in setting up the park, especially in the heat.

I know you all know what to do but a few gentle reminders are coming….

It will still be warm tomorrow, so please take care. Please remember that dogs are not allowed on the park, except for recognised assistance ones.
Please take care with cigarettes and vapes, especially with disposal and no smoking or vaping in the Marquees.
Please be our eyes and ears and alert show staff to anything unusual or suspicious. We may think we are immune in Ipplepen but sadly we are not.
There is only Blue Badge parking on the field.
The Maypole Parade route will be closed to traffic for a short while 1.45pm to 2pm.
Please have a designated meeting point such as the Draw Gazebo/Help point, in case of separation. It is a central point.

Right, let’s lighten the Post! I am really looking forward to all the Show entries, make sure you get them in on time.
Draw tickets on sale in the red gazebo. Don’t miss out on some great prizes.
There are some great stalls attending this year including some of our fantastic local associations, please support them.
Don’t forget to bring cash!
The Classic Vehicles this year will include tractors, definitely looking forward to that!
We had a very successful Show last year and hope to repeat this. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Prize Draw update.

VILLAGE SHOW 18TH JULY.
It’s getting very close now!

I had a very successful morning in the Hub last Saturday, thank you to everyone who came to see me and bought tickets. Thank you also for the lovely prize donations.

I have had donations from the following local companies;

Austin’s, Mane Haven, The Tally Ho, Lisa’s, Dainton Park, Dart’s Farm @ Fermoys, Southern Timber, The Co-Op, China Blue, Ipplepen Garage, Sandridge Barton and Balance Pilates.

I also have a selection of Sam Carrington books and some other lovely things donated by our fantastic Villagers. Thank you to everyone.

I am always overwhelmed by the amount of support I get, it’s fantastic. Thank you to everyone. Don’t forget, there is also £100 up for grabs.

We will be in the dark red gazebo, in our usual spot near the entrance to the main marquee.

The Show opens at 1pm. Cash is still King, so time to break open your piggy banks and look down the back of the sofa. Alternatively, use the cashpoint or the Post Office!

Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday. Entrance is £2.50. We have card readers at the entrance but cash is quicker.

Here’s to a great day!

Delivery of Programmes

I got a bit ahead of myself and should have altered my piece to say programmes are on the way from this week. Sorry about this! It does give me the opportunity to thank all the people involved in the deliveries, organised by Sarah Brewer. An awful lot goes on behind the scenes in organising both The Garden Show and Ipple Tipple. Thanks to everyone involved and our supporters. 😀

Not long to Show Day!

IPPLEPEN VILLAGE GARDEN SHOW 18TH JULY 2026

The Show is nearly here and the preparations are really hotting up, hopefully so is the
weather! By now, everyone should have received their programmes, have planned their day at the Show and are busy preparing their entries.

The Draw tickets will be on sale from 1st July. The best place to buy them is at the Show, find us in the dark red gazebo, next to the main Show marquee. Don’t miss out on the chance to win the top prize of £100. If you’re not coming to the Show, please get in touch.

At the time of writing, there are other lovely prizes, donated by Lisa’s Cafe, The Tally Ho, The Welly, The Co-op, Dainton Park Golf Club, Dart’s Farm Butchers, Southern Timber, Sandford Orchard Winery, Austin’s, China Blue, Ipplepen Garage and Mane Haven hairdressers and beauty. I always want more prizes, so if you have anything spare or would like to donate anything suitable for a hamper, please get in touch.

Please ensure you get your entries in for the Garden Show by 9pm on Friday 10th July. This can be done online at www.ipplepenvillageshow.co.uk or by hand to Liz Hooker at 4 Tremlett Grove. Please help Liz out by submitting entries as early as possible.
Please make sure you check the rules and eligibility of your entries before submitting.

As you know, cups must be returned before the Show to Liz Hooker, Show Secretary at the above address. Please ensure this is done by Friday 10th also but earlier is better. Thank you in anticipation.

The Show opens at 1pm. The Maypole procession will depart the War Memorial at 1.45pm and the first dance will be at 2pm. Please be aware that the road will be closed for a short while at this time. There is a lot to enjoy including the Craft Tent, the Carnival Club’s Kid’s Zone and a whole lot of fantastic stalls. Please remember to bring cash as not everyone can take card payments.

If you have any questions, please make contact by email or phone, details below. I am looking forward to seeing you all and to another fantastic event. Fingers crossed for a great day!
